			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><img src="http://i.ytimg.com/vi/Vt1BeD85lPw/2.jpg" align="left">On Saturday, August 22, 2009, with spectators hollering out &#8220;fire in the hole!,&#8221; an oil well in Bradford, Pennsylvania was &#8220;shot&#8221; as part of the Bradford Oil 150 celebration. </p>
<p>The world&#8217;s first commercial oil well was drilled in not-too-far-away Titusville in 1859. Bradford became a huge oil town in the late 1800s and early 1900s. The Bradford Era newspaper still declares the town to be &#8220;The High Grade Oil Metropolis of the World.&#8221; </p>
<p>This oil well is on Bradford School District property and will be a working well that is used to teach schoolchildren about the oil industry. It was drilled more than 1,400 feet deep.</p>
