sprawling epic of family, faith, power and oil, THERE WILL BE BLOOD is set on the incendiary frontier of California’s turn-of-the-century petroleum boom. The story chronicles the life and times of one Daniel Plainview (Daniel Day-Lewis), who transforms himself from a down-and-out silver miner raising a son on his own into a self-made oil tycoon. When Plainview gets a mysterious tip-off that there’s a little town out West where an ocean of oil is oozing out of the ground, he heads with his son, H.W. (Dillon Freasier), to take their chances in dust-worn Little Boston. In this hardscrabble town, where the main excitement centers around the holy roller church of charismatic preacher Eli Sunday (Paul Dano), Plainview and H.W. make their lucky strike. But even as the well raises all of their fortunes, nothing will remain the same as conflicts escalate and every human value – love, hope, community, belief, ambition and even the bond between father and son – is imperiled by corruption, deception and the flow of oil.

it just so happened …
it just so happened another phenomenal picture came out, by directors, you might have heard of em’, joel and ethan coen? No Country For Old Men really embodied the respect for them going back all the way to Blood Simple, Miller’s Crossing and Fargo, so this year was almost like a lifetime achievement for those two… PTA will make more great films and i know he’ll win a best director and possibly best picture before he’s done heh

Because I think its …
Because I think its some kind of conspiracy . Like I said name a movie that was nominated for 10 academy awards and won only 2,best actor and best cinematography, that means the back ground and scenery were good to look at and the actor carried a terrible script , he deserve 2 academy awards for caring such a lousy script. I feel it a public service

It was nominated …
It was nominated for best director and best picture, which is an achievement in its own. It also won best cinematography (considered visually stunning) and people are calling Daniel Day Lewis’ performance “legendary”. So why did you hate this movie so much? I mean, I thought Karate Kid III was bad but I’m not over there slamming it on YouTube. I you waste a lot of time and energy here. I think you liked it but don’t know why. Your frustrated. haha

You don’t understand the concept of art, it’s that simple. I’m not saying that makes you a dumb person, just saying that this type of movie is beyond you and you hate it because you don’t have the ability to appreciate it.

If you like your …
If you like your movies as simple mind-numbing entertainment this movie will blow right by you… It isn’t for everybody. If you’re inflexible and unimaginative, you probably won’t really appreciate this movie for what it is and hate it, in the end. For the rest of us, we’ll spend years debating Daniel’s character and the many layers to the beautifully crafted film. Even the title, leaves much to the imagination.
