If we dare to find alternative energy, oil companies will drop the price so low that it is cheaper just to use oil instead. I’m half dutch and half american, I’ve moved back and forth a few times throughout my life, and visit both places often (family). Whenever I go back to the US Im shocked by how oil dependant your entire culture is, driving from the grocery store to pick up kids from school and then back home and god knows where else. Everywhere you go you need a car apparently. In holland most people bike when they go places.
