This might be an absurd question. But in Japan, there is this powder that can harden oil. I just need to mix the powder into oil and the oil gets solid so I can just scoop it out and toss it into a garbage can. But in the states, how do you discard the oil that you used for deepfrying?
My friend actually gives his to someone that runs his car on it. The guy runs around to restraunts too and they give oil to him. This might be an idea, there might be a drop off place, otherwise at your local home improvement store you’ll find a product called Exorbant. It soak up the oil, into the powder, and you can toss out.

If you have biofuel recycling in your area take it there, if not you can send it down the drain while running cold water.

This may sound silly, but I discard used fry-oil in used coffee grounds and then discard both in the coffee tin when its empty!

A lot of us recycle that oil. We save it to cook in again, and when it’s no longer suitable for that, we turn it in to a recycling center that filters and refines it for use as heating oil, among other uses. Some of us are still foolish enough to dump it down the drain.

We pour it on our outside fire pit.
but if thats not an option I’ve put it down our sink drain while running very HOT water which helps keep it on its path further down & out of the lines.if you were to use cold it will start to gel & plug in your traps where that will start clogging.

grease down a drain is a very bad idea…………but it keeps me in business, thank you. Put it in jars, throw it away. Old pickle jars, olive jars, whatever. If you want me to visit you someday in the near future pour it down the drain. btw……….I’m a nice guy, at $60 an hour I’m lower than most plumbers……

I add mine to my used motor oil and take it to my local service station to be recycled. If you don’t change your own oil I’m sure they would take it anyway. RScott
