Can I drink liquid fish oil with water without ruining the benefits of the fish oil?

I drink a teaspoon of a liquid fish oil supplement ever day. I find just swallowing the teaspoon of oil a little foul. I know if I pour it into water it’ll just float on the top but i still find it a lot easier to swallow like that because there’s so much liquid I barely notice the oil. But would this dilute the effect of the fish oil in any way? Would it still work properly? Thanks!

Water should be fine. Although when taking omega 3 supplements it is best to take with some fat. So take it after eating som ekind of fatty food.

You should switch to a flavored fish oil. I take Carlson’s lemon flavored and it tastes just fine.

Also 1 time I accidentally bought normal flavored – which is "fish" flavored. I found that eating a couple of grapes after taking the "shot" of fish oil. It helped a lot.

I would consider taking another type of omega 3 supplement. Fish oil caplet or krill oil caps. No horrible tastes and all the benefits.

Yes I don’t see why not? But I prefer capsules.

why would water dilute it? It stays in the glass and then goes to your belly, doesnt it?! So no, its fine.

It would still work perfectly well, although I would think swallowing the capsules is much easier. :)

I can’t see why that would be a problem. You’re still taking in the same substance. Diluting it with water might slightly delay absorption of the oil, but I’d imagine that wouldn’t be a problem. If anything, pacing out absorption of the oil might be to your advantage.

‘Course, I take my fish oil in tablet form…
