How much do those oil booms used to contain oil spills cost?

Posted by admin on November 2nd, 2010 and filed under oil boom | 1 Comment »

I’ve tried looking it up everywhere on line, but you have to send your information and ask for a quote in order to find out :/ so if anyone knows, it would be really helpful for a project I’m doing, and especially if you could include the source that you got it from!

Thanks! :D

The three links below – 2 addressing cost and the other addressing the future recycling of the booms took me about a minute and a half to find and proof for relevance.

Why did Obama say he wanted to save the Booms that clean up oil in case of another Oil Disaster?

Is that not like saying my house is on fire , but save the water in case another house is burning. Dah!
Another house may start on fire- maybe in 10 years or so, so lets save the water to put that fire out….

Does Obama have any logic?

No is not like that at all…

If your kitchen gets on fire and burns the house down would you not keep a fire extinguisher on your kitchen once you rebuild…?

Is the the Gulf oil crisis orchestrated to push the Cap and Trade bill?

The Obama administration has denied requests for boom, refused to burn or disperse, and not sought a waiver for the Jones Act to allow international ships, that are standing by, to assists is the clean-up. Also add that the Administration’s "pause" on drilling and permits was said to be based on expert opinion that turns out to be doctored. Does this smell of oil-soaked fish to anybody? Is this an effort "not to waste a good [manufactured] crisis"?

I strongly doubt the Crisis was Created for that purpose, but there is little doubt those Elitist Despots in the Obama Administration would do anything possible to to keep the situation looking as spectacular as possible to help them in their grab for more power and more Control over the lives of us Serfs and to entrench themselves as Lords over all of us.
The timing of this genuine disaster does seem a bit too coincidental. Over the last 50 years there have been 30,000 wells drilled in the Gulf without a major incident.
Why now? Why just after Obama finally gave the okay to "drill baby drill"?

why is the 0bama administration ignoring offers to clean up the oil while blaming someone one else for it?

Why is Louisiana failing to apply for Federal permits on their oil spill cleanup effort?

You cant just "go to war" with oil. When you place booms in the water and vacuum up the oil, you suck up the plankton the shrimp and fish need to survive. Or worse, there are 50 endangered species in the gulf that can be harmed.

The want to build berms. Dredging normally is a two year EIS process. But the Government is fast tracking those permits down to only 4 months.

How can you have environmental laws and break them whenever you want?

you’re TOTALLY right…

we should stop drilling for oil PERMANENTLY…

and allow the countries that HATE OUR FRICKIN GUTS…

have a monopoly on a fuel source we have DECADES of

in THIS COUNTRY

brilliant

Regarding the Gulf Oil Spill, who laid the containment booms? How’d they have all them readily available?

Posted by admin on July 26th, 2010 and filed under oil boom | 2 Comments »

Those booms would have to be really long and I’m surprised they had them. How well can these booms hold the oil?

It is part of the emergency contingency protocals they have. They unfortunately do not hold enough.

Where is all of this used oil going?

All of this oil they are getting from the oil booms, skimmers, and all the other devices they have down there sucking up this oil, what are they doing with it?

The oil slick which is cleaned up by the oil skimmer equipped ships is recycled and refined and the oil sludged which is cleaned up on land is incinerated at EPA approved hazardous waste treatment plants.

who makes the boom that collects the oil in the gulf?

Why didn’t federal officials follow up on a 1994 Plan (during the Clinton Era) for an oil spill in the gulf?
